{"id":10764,"date":"2026-05-18T11:53:41","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T18:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eltermometro.mx\/?p=10764"},"modified":"2026-05-18T11:53:44","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T18:53:44","slug":"17-nursing-students-inducted-into-oadn-honor-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eltermometro.mx\/index.php\/2026\/05\/18\/17-nursing-students-inducted-into-oadn-honor-society\/","title":{"rendered":"17 nursing students inducted into OADN Honor Society"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yuma, Arizona \u2013 This spring, 17 fourth-semester student nurses were inducted into the Alpha Delta Nu-Iota Theta (IT) Chapter of the Organization of Associate Degree Nurses (OADN) Honor Society at Arizona Western College, an accomplishment that demonstrates not only academic excellence but also a commitment to serving the Yuma community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWatching our students grow into compassionate, skilled, and dedicated nursing professionals has been one of the greatest privileges of this program,\u201d AWC faculty advisor Amber Ortega reflected. \u201cWhile this honor recognizes academic excellence and leadership, it also reflects their heart for service, their humanity, and their commitment to caring for others beyond the classroom and clinical setting. These students represent the future of nursing not only through their achievements, but through the compassion, integrity, and selfless service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for the honor society, students must maintain a B in all nursing program courses and complete a community service project of their choice. This semester, students led a community effort to distribute over 250 care packages to homeless in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 68 students have been inducted into the IT Chapter since its inception in 2024. Now concluding its second academic year, the chapter has roughly 50 active members and anticipates another cohort of eligible students in the fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the national advocate for the over 1,100 associate degree nursing programs across the country, the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) works to advance excellence in nursing education and associate degree pathways into registered nursing careers. The organization aims to expand networks that promote leadership, collaboration, and advocacy to further enrich nursing education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society is the only honor society in the nation for Associate Degree Nursing students. Its mission is to recognize the academic excellence of students in the study of Associate Degree Nursing.
