This incident underscores the heightened dangers of impaired driving, especially during the holiday season when roadways are busier, and celebrations involving alcohol are more frequent. Speeding and driving under the influence significantly increase the risk of accidents, endangering not only the driver but also other motorists, pedestrians, and families traveling for holiday gatherings.
The CPOA urges everyone to plan ahead, designate a sober driver, or use rideshare services to prevent tragedies like this.
