Yuma County, Ariz. – Avoid the rush on Election Day by voting early, starting Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Active Early Voters will receive their ballots in the mail soon. Voting from the comfort of your own home will help reduce crowd size on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Any registered voter can vote early in-person from Wednesday, October 9, 2024 to Friday, November 1, 2024. In-person early voting is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 102 S. Port of San Luis CBP Officers arrest teen with $1 Million of Narcotics

San Luis, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Area Port of San Luis seized over 175 pounds of hard-narcotics in a weekend smuggling attempt. The incident occurred on Saturday September 28, at approximately 10:30 p.m., when CBP officers encountered an 18-year-old male driving a Chevrolet SUV applying for entry from Mexico at the San Luis I Port of Entry. The teenager, a United States citizen, was referred for further examination. In the secondary inspection area, CBP officers used non-intrusive technology to screen the SUV revealing anomalies throughout the vehicle. Yuma, Ariz. – The City of Yuma reminds residents that the voter registration deadline for the Nov. 5 election in Arizona is Oct. 7. Yuma voters will elect one seat on the Yuma City Council and one Municipal Court Judge during this election, as well as consider Proposition 425, Mayor and Council Compensation. Cibola High School was recognized as a Special Olympics Unified Champion School by Special Olympics North America, a prestigious designation that highlights the school’s commitment to inclusive excellence.
