
Yuma, AZ- The US Border Patrol Yuma Sector continues to honor the commitment of the agency in making the border more secure.
On May 20 the agency reported that a Mexican national is facing criminal charges for smuggling two illegal aliens across the international border. Wellton Station agents and Yuma Air Branch pilots tracked the group – two Mexican nationals and a Costa Rican – through the Sonoran Desert and caught them approximately 35 miles south of Tacna, Arizona. The guide will be charged with alien smuggling under 8 USC 1324. The subjects he was smuggling face alien inadmissibility charges under 8 USC 1182.


On May 18, the Border Patrol announced that four Mexican nationals are facing criminal charges, swift removals, and a ban on re-entry after they illegally entered the U.S. on the west side of Yuma. Agents quickly detected and arrested the group. All will be charged with alien inadmissibility under 8 USC 1182 and entry without inspection under 8 USC 1325, with two of them also being charged with reentry of removed aliens under 8 USC 1326.
